According to a report by the Kenya National Bureau of Statistics (KNBS), the youth unemployment rate in Kenya stands at approximately 22%
Wake na Vijana Initiatives is addressing this critical need for a program focused on economic empowerment and capacity building for vulnerable youth living in poverty in Kenya through the Youth Economic Empowerment through Entrepreneurship Initiative (YEETE) program.
The YEETE program is designed for youth aged 18-35 from underserved communities and high risk backgrounds, offering entrepreneurial training and resources start and grow businesses.
Our Priority Areas
Women Economic Empowerment Through Entrepreneurship (WEETE) Program
We commit to poverty eradication through two programs specially designed for women and youth:
The Women Economic Empowerment Through Entrepreneurship (WEETE) program targets women aged 36 and above from underserved communities, providing them with the tools, training and support needed to start and grow businesses,
Participants in this program go through a comprehensive one year program that includes training about business planning, financial literary, savings, marketing, sales, among others.
They are then mentored creating a business plans, seeking funding and establishing eco-friendly, sustainable businesses.
Youth Economic Empowerment Through Entrepreneurship (WEETE) Program
This YEETE program is designed for vulnerable youth youth aged 18-35 living in poverty and high risk backgrounds, offering entrepreneurial training and resources start and grow businesses.
